Accounts – IPPP User Account

The IPPP operate an independent computer system from the rest of the university; this means that your Durham CIS details will not work on our Desktops, Login, WS, CPU or GPU systems and that you will need to request an account with us.

If we are aware of your arrival, we will typically have your account pre-made but this isn’t always the case. If you haven’t already received your account details then please get in touch.

Details Required/Stored

  • Forenames
  • Surnames
  • Role/Job title (if applicable)
  • University/Institute email address
  • Telephone Number (if within Durham)
  • Office Number (if within Durham)
  • Supervisors name (if applicable)

As part of your IPPP account, some or all of the above details may be available via our website at www.ippp.dur.ac.uk. Please contact us if this poses any issue.

Guests Accounts

We can also provide restricted user accounts for guests and external collaborators, all that we require is that an IPPP member to sponsor the guest/external account. These accounts are more restricted than a standard IPPP account, so access will need to be requested to specific resources. If you have a guest account and don’t have access to a particular resource and you require it, simply ask your sponsor to request the access on your behalf.
